Valentino Sogno In Rosso Fragrance Review - Here's What It Smells Like

Valentino released it’s Anatomy of Dreams Haute Couture fragrance collection in late 2024, A Haute Couture perfume collection inspired by the hedonistic spirit of Rome.

They kindly sent over one of the scents from the exclusive collection for review, Valentino Sogno In Rosso. A beautiful fragrance to get you straight into 2025.

Here’s everything you need to know, including what Valentino Sogno In Rosso smells like.

What Does Valentino Sogno In Rosso Smell Like?

When I smell Valentino Sogno In Rosso the first thing I notice is the sweet and creamy smell, combined with some white floral and warm spicy notes.

At first I get the juniper berries which give it that real ‘red smell’, and once settled down a little, the milky note of latte foam and vanilla really shine through.

Valentino Sogno In Rosso is a sweet and delicate type of fragrance, elegant and gets better the longer you wear it.

This is very much a unisex fragrance, and it’s not a super masculine type of scent which you may want to consider when buying.

How Long Does Sogno In Rosso Last?

Valentino Sogno In Rosso is a parfum strength fragrance, so with this concentration you would expect it to last. I was able to easily get 8 hours of use with this scent, which is a good amount of time with this profile of perfume.

How Strong Is Sogno In Rosso?

Valentino Sogno In Rosso is a strong scent without being overpowering or overbearing.

It’s strength it it’s subtlety, so you can smell this one when up close or around people. It’s staying power is one of it’s strengths, with a consistently strong smell which lasts.

How Many Sprays Do You Need?

I spray Sogno In Rosso 7 times on the pulse points including the neck and nape of the neck, wrists and twice on the chest. This gives good coverage and ensures you can smell the scent throughout the day or evening.

Sogno In Rosso Pros And Cons

Pros

  • Exclusive fragrance
  • A beautiful all round scent
  • Has a premium smell and bottle

Cons

  • Expensive at £300 per 100ml bottle
  • Not a super masculine fragrance

Sogno In Rosso Fragrance Bottle

The Sogno In Rosso bottle is as beautiful as the fragrance itself. Made of a thick glass, this is the 100ml bottle which feels premium to hold in my hand.

The first thing you can see is the red juice of the fragrance, which looks fantastic in this clear bottle. To the front there’s a canvas fabric plate with the branding in red, a nod to the Valentino haute couture boxes.

The bottle top itself has the trademark studded Valentino style which is made from glass, another sign of premium craftsmanship and traditional bottles of fragrance.

Another talking point is the base of the bottle, a dimensional prism like shape which reflects the fragrance and really gives it the finishing touch it deserves.

The atomiser is gold and has the Valentino logo to the top, and gives a nice wide spray giving good coverage.

What Clothes To Wear With Sogno In Rosso

A premium and elegant smelling fragrance, Sogno In Rosso deserves the right clothing to go with it. This is definitely one you’d get dressed up for.

If you’re not going smart and formal, the smart-casual dress code would go well with this. Clean shirts, blazers, knitwear and suits are all good to wear with this scent.

When To Wear Sogno In Rosso

Typically I would associate sweet fragrances exclusively for summer, but Sogno In Rosso has that vanilla note and warm spicy style which makes me think of it as a more universal scent.

I could wear this now, in the winter, and it work well on an evening. Equally so, when it starts to warm up I could wear this at a formal event during a summer day.

Who Is Sogno In Rosso For?

When I smell Valentino Sogno In Rosso I think it’s most suited to a modern gentleman.

This isn’t an old school masculine fragrance with heavy ouds, and it’s not a fresh scent you’d wear out of the gym.

Sogno In Rosso is a refined sweet and creamy scent, velvety and silky, for anyone who wants to smell good and enjoys sweet styles of scents.

I think that older guys would enjoy this more than the younger crowd, 25+ or 30+ would be a good age to appreciate this scent.

Is Sogno In Rosso Worth It?

Valentino Sogno In Rosso is an expensive fragrance, but you are getting a premium scent. Once you smell it you can get that hint of luxury that you don’t find in a regular designer fragrance. It lasts a good amount of time, and the bottle itself is looks fantastic anywhere you put it.

Where To Buy Sogno In Rosso

Valentino Sogno In Rosso is available exclusively at Valentino and at Selfridges, price at £300 for the 100ml bottle and £105 for a 30ml bottle. This is one of seven fragrance part of the Anatomy Of Dreams collection from Valentino.
