Happy Valentines Michael Day!
The tradition for normal people to celebrate Valentines Day, but if you’ve been reading this blog since day one, it’s been a tradition to have Michael Day. It’s not a tradition I can stop, and why would I!? 😀
It’s an absolute eating and drinking fest, and the only food which is allowed is terrible food which is not good for you. That would be lots and lots of chocolate and various carbs, not forgetting lots of alcohol later.
If you’ve seen any of my previous Michael Day’s you’ll have seen me make home made gyros, have filet steak, plenty of champagne and of course you can’t forget the truffles!
I have toned things down in recent years, this year I will have spaghetti bolognese and I’ve already had french toast for brunch/lunch…Something I love but rarely eat.
This usually coincides with pancake day and I call it fat week, however this year that’s not until the end of the month, so there’s 2 weeks to wait for that.
If you are planning a Valentines with a girl I have some helpful posts. Whether you’re looking at what to wear, what fragrance to use, where to go & what to do, or some general style rules, here’s some posts from the blog which will help you out on this day:
- What to wear on valentines day
- The best valentines day fragrances
- Are you supposed to take off your suit jacket in a restaurant?
- What to wear on a first date
- The rules for buttoning a suit jacket
Hopefully these will be helpful to you for whatever you’re getting up to tonight.
I also can’t get it go without talking about my style. Since today is all about red, I’ve dug out a red shirt I own, and teamed it up with a V-neck jumper in grey.
I bought this red shirt such a long time ago and rarely worn it. It’s such a bright poppy colour, probably too bold to wear on it’s own. I think it works fine with another darker piece, and I think it works fine with the sweater. For the lower half I’ve kept things dark with some black chinos.
Whatever you’re up to today and tonight, have a good one!
Happy Valentines Day 😉
