Spain Win Euro 2024 - Felicidades La Selecction De Española

Vamos España!! Spain have won Euro 2024, beating England in the final 2-1 with goals from Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal, to record their record breaking 4th European Championship.

What a win, what a night, and what a Euro 2024 it has been.

Here’s the highlights of the whole tournament for Spain, including that final.

Spain started out in the hardest group, Group B, with reigning champions Italy, Croatia and Albania. They won all 3 of their group games, beating Croatia 3-0, Italy 1-0 and Albania 1-0.

A last 16 game against Georgia awaited, and Spain ran out winners 4-1 to set up a quarter final game against Germany.

In possibly the most exciting game of the Euros for Spain, they beat Germany 2-1 after extra time, with Mikel Merino scoring a header in the 119th minute, setting up a semi final against France.

Spain went on to beat France 2-1, after going behind, Lamine Yamal scored a wonder goal, and Dani Olmo wrapped it up, sending Spain into a final with England.

Spain took the lead against England with a brilliant goal from Nico Williams just after half time. Cole Palmer came on and equalised, but it was Mikel Oyarzabal who came on to make an even bigger impact, scoring the winner in the 86th minute. Spain won the final of Euro 2024 2-1.

It was such a great month, a month that seems to have flown by, but also feels like that first match was a lifetime ago.

Spain have and their players have broken record after record. Including:

  • Spain win a record 4th Euros tournament
  • Spain are the first team to win all 7 games at a Euros
  • Spain scored the most goals at Euro 2024 (15 goals)
  • Lamine Yamal is the youngest goal scorer at any Euros or World Cup
  • Lamine Yamal is the youngest player to play in a final of a major tournament (Euros, World Cup etc)
  • Lamine Yamal is the youngest player to have an assist in a final
  • Spain beat EVERY European team that’s ever won the World Cup on the way to winning the Euros
  • Lamine Yamal was young player of the tournament
  • Rodrigo was player of the tournament
  • Dani Olmo won the golden boot
  • Lamine Yamal got the most assists at the Euros.

Spain were the best team at Euro 2024

Spain were the best team at Euro 2024. They won every match, won them all well, and played the best football.

Spain had by far the hardest route to the final, and ended up winning it. In over 30 years of watching international tournament football, I think that this is the hardest ever route I have seen.

Spain had the hardest group, and then were on the most difficult side of the draw, with the likes of hosts Germany, France, Portugal and Belgium.

Nevertheless, the young roja came through all of that, and ended up winning it all.

Here’s the games that they played and won.

Euro 2024 – The Year Of The Wonderkids

I think that Euro 2024 as a whole will be remembered as the Euros of the Wonderkids. In world football we’ve been blessed with the Messi and Ronaldo era, and it’s been all about them. Now they are ending their careers, I’ve always wondered who’s going to take over?

There’s been so much talent on show at the Euros, and it feels like we’re back to the good old days of sharing huge talent around a whole load of players.

Footballers like Arda Guller, Kvaratskhelia, Nico Williams, Lamine Yamal, Wirtz, Musiala and more all left their mark. We didn’t see the best from older heads like Ronaldo and De Bruyne, and M’Bappe did live up to his hype either.

It’s going to be good to see what unfolds at the next major tournament, the 2026 World Cup in North America.

Did you enjoy Euro 2024?

I thought it was a really good tournament overall, and of course my team Spain won.
