It was only worn once by Spain at Euro 2024, but I had to get the Spain away shirt for 2024, and I got Nico Williams player printing on the back.
Here’s everything you need to know about the shirt.
I usually buy Spain shirts well before the tournament, but this year it was different. I decided to wait, because in recent tournaments, they’ve always reduced them in the final run-up, or when the competition is going on.
Just my luck, they didn’t, so I didn’t get a shirt while the Euros were on. But I did get the Spain 96 re-issued shirt, so that’s what I wore throughout the tournament!
When I first saw the away shirt I was underwhelmed. It looked pretty odd, but seeing it live on the screen made it look better, and it does look better in person.
Details
I got the replica version rather than the players. This was because I wanted player printing, and for some reason the authentic version was not available with the printing.
I will also get the home shirt, and will get Lamine Yamal, so for the away I was torn between players to get on the back. It was between Dani Olmo and Nico Williams, and I went for Nico Williams after his fantastic performances at the Euros, and of course the goal in the final.
When it comes to the detailing, I got the Nations League Winners patch printed on the front, UEFA Foundation badge on the sleeve and 17 Nico Williams print. The Euro 2024 sleeve badge was not available from Adidas, so I may buy that at a later date.
The Spain badge to the front is a heat seal raised rubber type, with the Adidas logo being embroidered on.
The Fit
The official fit for this shirt is a slim fit, and it does cut slightly close to the body. I always size up football shirts, and I think this shirt fits perfectly.
It’s not too slim fitting, and it’s quite loose but still has that silhouette style of fit that I like.
I always do this with most football shirts, I like a little bit more room, so I knew this would be a good fit.
Colours
The colours work well together, despite it not looking so good on screen. The red is more like a deep or infra red colour, with the lemon yellow being quite bright.
The mint green sides and tail look good, and have a textured feel to them, rather than the silky smooth feel of the rest of the shirt.
And that’s it, the Spain away shirt for 2024-25. It’s a shirt that’s very different from all of the previous away shirts, and I am glad I now own this.
