Smart Styling On A Budget: French Connection Suit

For my outfit of the week I have gone for a smarter look, with this suit by French Connection.

I really like the smarter look, jackets and blazers are always a good thing to have. You can dress them up in a full suit for a smart look, or dress them down with a nice plain tee and pair of jeans to create a smart laid back look.

As I’ve got older I’ve expanded my suit collection, and have the key colours covered; Black, dark blue and grey, as well as some contemporary toned down patterned options.

When it comes to first suit colours, I think that navy is the best choice.

The suit I have gone for is a dark blue pinstripe two piece suit by French Connection. I love a dark blue suit, I think it’s the best colour as it will go with everything and it’s not as cold as black. The pin striping detail keep it smart while adding some dimension to it.

The jacket comes with a two button front with two pockets, with a mock pocket square in the top pocket which you can use or add your own. The back has a centre vent, and internally it’s lined and comes with two pockets to keep your valuables close to your chest.

The trousers come with a zip fly and hook and loop closure, with two slanted side pockets, two back pockets and belt loops.

The first rule you’ll always hear from anyone who knows about style will say the same thing, it’s something which I’ve said many times on the blog, the fit. It’s all about the fit, and the fit is key. I can honestly say I love the fit of this suit, especially the jacket. It fits just right, sits well and the sleeves are a great length.

I have kept the look smart and teamed the suit with a smart shirt which is a light blue colour with fine stripe line detailing, a dark blue tie with red polka dots, and a pair black derby shoes.
