As you’ll know from reading my blog over the past year or so, I’ve got a new found love for socks. Socks have always been an essential item, but recently they’ve taken on a whole new persona for themselves. No longer are they that boring item which you don’t really care about but buy out of necessity, but a stylish item of it’s own to team up with the rest of your outfit. I have got on board with the sock trend, and have quite a few pairs from different brands, but there’s a new brand which is doing something I’ve not seen before, that’s prince + pete.
Something we all have to deal with is that missing sock. Where do they go? I don’t really understand how I can lose a sock from the washing basket to the washing machine for it to never be seen again. I do have a couple of single socks which I do actually keep, in the hope that I’ll find the other which makes up the pair.
prince + pete have developed colour collections which have coordinating designs, and are sold in singles, yes, you can buy just one sock. The idea is that all the socks from each colour collection can be paired up, giving more fashionable choices and allowing collections to be built up, one sock at a time.
“Men are limited in the ways they can express a sense of style. So, I wanted to create a sock brand that makes it easy for the average guy to be fashionable, with great designs that are well-made and easily coordinated,” said Donna Pappalardo, Founder of prince + pete.
There’s two ways which you can purchase the socks; A monthly subscription service called S-Club which you can join and get three socks delivered to your door per month, a matching pair and a single complimentary sock. This costs $36/month with free delivery, with an option to cancel the service at any time. You can also get a starter pack of 9 socks, this includes 4 pairs and 1 complimentary sock to get you going, which comes in at $96.
The socks are made from a super soft bamboo, with an arch support, extra cushioned bottom, smooth seamless toe and are a perfect crew length. The collections which are currently available are Bleeker, Hudson, Ludlow, Melrose, Mercer and Worth.
I think that this is a really good unique idea, with some great sock colours and patterns available. You can see more from prince + pete at their site, and check out the video below which gives you all the information you need in less than a minute.
