Daily Style – Red And Burgundy Vibes For Autumn

Tuesday, 4th October, 2016

michael84-tedbakershoes-mango

Hey guys!

So Autumn is definitely here, the leaves are falling, so for this daily style look I decided to go for a bit of a red, burgundy colour.

I really love this knit, it’s a cardigan from Mango MAN, and this is the right season to bring out woollen garments and pair them up with some classic clothing.

I went for a white shirt, the most universal and versatile of all shirts, and a pair of one of my favourite Selvedge Denim jeans, from PRPS.

You may remember about my Ted Baker Mission Impeccable post, I shared some of my favourite pieces from their Autumn 2016 collection.

I am wearing a pair of Ted Baker suede brogues from the collection, which compliments this look well, with the red and brown colour working well with the cardigan, jeans and shirt.

The detailing on the shoes is something which I really love, and the double laces are quite interesting, something I don’t currently have on any of my footwear.

A shirt and cardigan combination is one of my favourite go to looks for a smart casual style, so you’ll probably see a lot more going forward in the coming months.

Last Night Out In Town – 1st October

Sunday, 2nd October, 2016

saturdaynight-1-10-16-4

Hey guys!

I can’t believe it’s October already, 9 months of 2016 have come and gone and before you know it we’ll be planning for Christmas and 2017! Last night we went out for a couple of drinks down the town, and went to a couple of bars including Lola Jeans, Mushroom, Browns, Bacchus and Fitzgeralds. The above image is of Grey Street which a lot of these bars are on, and was voted Britain’s finest street years and years ago which is pretty cool.

There’s the Snow Dogs dotted all over Newcastle for the St. Oswald’s Hospice charity, so I had to get a couple of pics of them 😛 There’s an app on the app store if you want to track them all down, it’s called Great North Snowdogs. Each one is decorated individually and designed by Wild In Art.

Here’s a couple of pics below from last night. I hope you’ve had a great weekend 🙂

Dolce And Gabbana: The One Fragrance Review

Dolce And Gabbana The One Review

I can’t believe how long I have had Dolce And Gabbana: The One scent, and I haven’t written a review for it. It’s one of the scent’s which I regard as a favourite, although that list is a fairly long one! 😉

I got this when it was released in 2008 although I can’t remember exactly when, I assume it would have been around Christmas time as a present. Since then I’ve gone on to use that bottle over the years, and then another, and after that decided a while back that I’d buy up some of my favourites in a larger bottle form, and got this 100ml bottle, which I’ve still not needed to open!

The fragrance itself is one of those real masculine styles of scents. It’s punchy, musky and woody, and is one for the evenings in the Autumn or Winter. You can tell just by looking at this colour of the fragrance the style of scent which this is going to be, the golden orange colours of a dark small, and it doesn’t disappoint.

It is almost the complete opposite of The One Geltleman, a scent from D&G which came after the success of this one, and is another favourite.

Although it’s now getting on in life, it’s still a really good fragrance to own, and is quite a classic, old school musky scent, but manages to stay refined and elegant. Check out more of my men’s aftershave reviews over here, and let me know what you think of The One.

Best season to wear – Autumn/Winter
Scent type – Woody, Spicy
Age Recommendation – 21+
Best Worn – Evening, Casual, Formal

Top Notes – Grapefruit, Coriander, Basil

Middle Notes – Cardamon, Ginger, Orange Blossom

Base Notes – Cedar Wood, Ambergris, Tobacco

As you’ll have read in my Spring Suede Jackets guide, I love a good soft leather jacket.

They’re not only perfect for Spring, but they can be considered an autumn style trend too.

As you’ll know, suede is a type of leather which has a napped finish, with lamb and goat most commonly used, with calf and even deer also being used.

Friday, 23rd September, 2016

For the Autumn/Winter 16 collection, Ted Baker has brought Mission Impeccable, a story based on T.E.D special agents who are brought together to prevent “The Needle” from selling the fabrics he’s stolen and turned into his own twisted creations to the highest bidder.

The story is brought to life in a film which has been directed by Crown & Owels with executive director Guy Ritchie, which is a shoppable experience on the Tedbaker.com website.

Ted Baker has asked me to come up with the ideal outfit for this season, with the pieces from the brand new AW 16 collection from the Mission Impeccable film, which comprises of over 130 pieces ranging from footwear and accessories to smart tailoring and seasonal knits.

Daily Style – Green And Blue Check Shirt

Monday, 12th September, 2016

me-12-9-2016-1

Isn’t the saying blue and green should never be seen?

This is one of my favourite casual shirts, it’s from Mango MAN. I wore this with a white tee a couple of weeks ago and I think it’s a really good combination.

Autumn is here but it’s actually been really nice weather which is always odd…Every year we seem to have really great Septembers, but the actual Summer months of August and July always seem underwhelming, right?

I love Autumn fashion and style, as well as Autumn knits I think that layering up some check shirts is a really cool style, and works just as well in early Autumn as it does in Spring. I wore this shirt with a Derek Rose premium white T-shirt, one of my favourite white tees.

I’ve featured this is my basic T-shirt guide which I written about a while ago and collaborated with the best premium basic companies, and this one is definitely one of my favourites. You can’t really see the jeans, but they’re black soft denim from Armani Jeans.
