Calvin Klein Encounter Eau De Toilette For Men Review – An Underrated CK Fragrance

Calvin Klein Encounter Fragrance Review

Here’s another one of my old scents which I have been going through recently, and it’s a really nice one, Calvin Klein Encounter.

I think that Calvin Klein Encounter is a very underrated scent, and probably shown the least love out of all the fragrances from CK.

It was released in the Autumn of 2012 and I think I got this back in the Winter of 2012, and I really liked it.

I’ve never seen too many people talk about it, it doesn’t seem to get much love from scent lovers or the general public, and I don’t really understand why.

Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme Review – A Good Aquatic Men’s Fragrance

Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme Review

Do you call it Bvlgari Aqva, or Bulgari Aqua?

Actually if you know Bvlgari, it’s stylised in the old roman lettering, but of course it’s pronounced “Bulgari Aqua”. My first scent from the high end fashion house was Bvlgari MAN which I love…I mean it’s one of my favourite fragrances ever.

After I got that, I was intrigued by the brand, so I bought a few more of their scents, this being one of them.

Style Check: MANGO MAN Shirt From The Summer Sale

Check Shirt Style With T-Shirt From Mango Man

Hey guys!

I hope you’re having a good Tuesday. We’ve had some brilliant weather over the past few days, and that’s coming to an end (apparently) tomorrow so I made the most of the rain-less days and got out and took a couple of shots in my new check shirt I got from Mango Man in the sale.

When it comes to check shirts I really love them, but I only love a particular style. I like so many checks and patterns, but my favourite are buffalo prints, or checks which are medium-large in size, just like this shirt. The really large “plaid like” checks and squares can look a bit too big for my liking, and although I do like smaller “gingham like” checks, the type I am wearing here is by far my favourite. Whenever I see shirts in this pattern I am drawn to them, and always consider buying them, and in this case, I did.

Style Of The Week – Nautical Stripes For Friday

Style Post - Outfit Of The Week - Nautical Tee

Hey guys!

Happy Friday! I can’t believe that the week is almost over already and the weekend is (almost!) here. The days and weeks seem to go so quickly, the Summer is slowly disappearing and soon it will be gone which is something I hate! I better make the most of Summer style while I can 😉

One of my favourite styles for summer are nautical stripes. I have several nautical striped tees, from dark tops with light stripes, to light T-shirts with darker stripes, I’ve got them all. This is one of the nautical tops I got from ASOS last Summer, and it’s still in really good condition and is something I really like wearing. For my style of the week I have kept the look simple with only this top and a pair of black denim.

For the shoes I have gone for Kurt Geiger, and picked my suede derby shoes. The good thing about the warmer weather is that I can wear these without fear of damaging them in rain or puddles…Although it looks like I am too late, I wore these out one night and got them splashed. I should have used some suede protector, sadly I didn’t, and they’re now marked. I may try to get them back to a better condition.

Nautical Look - Style Blog Of The Week

I own a lot of sunglasses, too many in fact. I actually only wear 2-3 pairs these days, and usually switch between two, both Ray Ban. I have both of the classics, the aviators and the wayfarers, and for this look I’ve gone for wayfarers.

Last weekend I went out and had a blast, and this weekend I have no plans, although that may change. I will be happy to just relax this week and do nothing, not go out, and not go out-out, but that doesn’t mean that’s how it’s going to work out 😛

Have a great Friday guys! 🙂 (a few more pics below…)

Legend Of Kremlin Vodka

Legend Of Kremlin Vodka Review

I do love plain vodka, and I got a bottle of Legend of Kremlin vodka for my birthday a few weeks ago, and I finally opened it and tried it out. I know that some people will say they’re all the same, but they really aren’t. You can tell the difference between an expensive, good vodka, and one of those horrible bottles of cheap vodka. I’ve got a lot of bottles of premium vodka, my last bottle I got was Reyka vodka which is from Iceland, and it won’t shock you to realise that Legend of Kremlin vodka is Russian.

First off I have to talk about the bottle which I really like. I think that the bottle and packaging is what draws you into any alcohol, and I’ve got some bottles which are really distinctive such as the Crystal Head vodka bottle, this one is no different. It comes with a large base at the bottle and long neck, it’s really stylish and I love the design of the bottle. It also comes with a pour type of bottle opening, so you can measure out a drink so much easier, and get to pour like a barman.

The vodka is very smooth as you’d expect from a premium vodka, and goes down really well. It’s 40% rather than the 37.5% you can get from other vodkas such as Smirnoff, and it tastes crisp while not being sharp. If you are looking for a new premium vodka to try or to add to your collection, you should give Legend of Kremlin a try.

NE1 Newcastle Car Show 2017

Redbull F1 Car At NE1 Motor Show 2017

This weekend it was the NE1 Motor Show which I went to, and as usual it was really good!

The weather did help a lot, it’s been a warm weekend with plenty of sun, so it was good to get out and go and look at some cars. The event is in it’s third year, and I’ve been to the previous two, both have been good. It goes from top to bottom of Grey Street, and has grown out into other streets to, with cars on show in Grainger Street and adjacent streets too.

This time round there were a few new additions. There was an F1 Simulator which came from Mercedes Benz F1, it looked really good, and there was not only one F1 car on show but two! From Red Bull and Renault.

It was also the first time there was a live show, it was the Paul Swift Stunts doing a few stunts in Hood Street which was cool to see on the streets! As always, there were plenty of sports and Super cars there, from Aston Martin, Ferrari, Bentley, Lamborghini, Porsche, Rolls Royce, TVR, Nissan and more, and the classic cars including Jaguar and more!

Style Of The Week – Ripped Denim & Kenzo

Friday, 7th July, 2017

Style of the week - 7th July 2017

Hey guys!

The weekend is here and I couldn’t be happier about that! It feels like I have just worked, done some running, ate a little, slept and then done it all over again for 5 days, I am so happy to have two days off! ? I have been able to put together this style of the week post, so you can check out my favourite outfit which features a pair of ripped denim and my Kenzo tee.

So this weekend I am going to go to the NE1 Motor Show aka the Newcastle Car Show, which is on Grey Street. It’s been a yearly thing for 2 years now, I was there in 2015 and 2016, and this year it’s supposed to be even bigger so I look forward to checking it out and seeing what’s going on.

So as for my style…I am not the biggest fan of light denim, but If you read my men’s jean advice guide then you’ll know that I’d consider it one of the five pairs of denim to own, as it gives your wardrobe more diversity and having different colours of denim will give you a far bigger choice when it comes to putting outfits together. I love indigo and black denim, but sometimes it’s good to mix things up and try something different.

The denim is from Cheap Monday and is pretty good. It’s a ripped jean style which is good for the Summer and I do like these jeans, however I don’t really wear them all too often. I paired these up with my black Converse for a typical casual look, two classics which will live on forever.

This Kenzo tee is one of my favourites, I got it quite a while ago and I still really like it. It has the trademark Kenzo branding to the front, which is appliqued on and is a kind of check/tartan style of pattern within the wording.

Have a great weekend guys!

John Varvatos Dark Rebel Rider Fragrance – Here’s How It Smells [Review]

John Varvatos Dark Rebel Rider Fragrance Review

You may remember that one of the fragrances I got for my last birthday was John Varvatos Dark Rebel Rider, so this week I’ve tried it out to add to my aftershave reviews, and this is what I think of this one.

It was first released in 2016, so it is a fairly new fragrance. When you check out the box, bottle and even the name, you’ll know what type of scent you’re in for. Dark Rebel Rider is how it sounds, and the image on the box is that of a leather biker jacket, so it’s not a surprise that it’s a dark leathery fragrance.

But as always I will start with the bottle. It’s wrapped in a faux leather pouch type of cover, which comes with two chunky zips to the side. You can keep the bottle in it’s pouch while using it, or take it out, as the bottle top and sprayer is exposed so you’re able to use it. The spray is nice and wide, so you don’t need to have too many sprays of this to get good coverage.

As for the fragrance itself, it’s a dark, musky and leather type of smell as mentioned above. It is quite smokey and woody, it reminds me of Hugo Boss Bottled Oud, which also has a dry woody kind of smell to it, however this smells more like incense as it’s more smokey.

I would think that this scent is more for an Autumn evening, when the dark nights are closing in, it makes me think of a night by the fire in the countryside with a glass of whisky in your hand wearing a heavy jumper for the chilly nights. It’s a masculine gentleman style of fragrance.

The longevity is quite good, and it has a good range too, you don’t need to use a lot of this for it to be noticed. If you’re looking for a smokey woody type of scent, you should give this one a look.

Best season to wear – Autumn/Winter
Scent type – Woody and smokey
Age Recommendation – 25+
Best Worn – Evening, Casual, Formal

Top notes: Lemon, Bitter orange, Aldehydes, Saffron, Marjoram, Hyssop
Middle notes: Iris, Osmanthus, Black violet, Labdanum, Somalian incense, Benzoin, Tolu balsam
Base notes: Russian leather, Cocoa, Vanilla, Atlas cedarwood, Patchouli

Saturday Style – July Has Brought The Sun Back

Saturday Style - White trainers & Black jeans

Happy Saturday!

It’s 1st July, and it’s brought the sun back! For the past week or so it’s been more like Winter than Summer, day after day of miserable weather and rain; We’ve gone from wearing shorts and T-shirts to wearing Winter coats. But at least the sun has come back out to play (for now!)

For my Saturday Style this week I finally got to wear my white Air Max Ultra 2.0! Since the weather has been so terrible I’ve not wanted to wear these outside because I’d ruin them straight away and I’ve only just got them.
