For my latest film night, I watched to watch something which I hadn’t seen, so I done my usual browse around Amazon Prime to find something. I wanted something like, and saw something called Summer of 8. I checked out the trailer, and it looked like it could be good.
I love coming of age films, I love the Summer, and this is basically both of those two things put together.
I’ve already told you about my Summer of 2006, and how my Lacoste Cool Blue takes me right back there. It was a great Summer, and the next year I had another good one, and with that came a new scent. once again from Lacoste, this was Lacoste Elegance.
So it was the Summer of 2007, and I needed a new fragrance. I already owned a few, bought some more, but for one reason or another, I took my bottle of Lacoste Elegance with me on holiday. I think I took another bottle, but this is the one which I remember the most. I went to Bulgaria in the Summer, and this was a great fragrance for the nights.
Hey guys, I hope you’ve had a good weekend so far!
For my latest film night, I wanted to watch something light and funny, but after looking around Amazon Prime, I couldn’t find something which I liked and wanted to watch, which I hadn’t seen before. I haven’t bought any Blu Rays/DVDs for ages, so looked to see what I had. I found The Goods: Live Hard Sell Hard which I haven’t seen in so long, so decided to watch that.
It’s a pair of trainers which I featured on the blog months ago, I loved them, and thought about getting them for months…Now I have finally got them, the Nike Air Max2 Light QS Atmos, and here they are.
I never get too excited by trainers these days, but I have to say, I really love some of the Air Max which Nike have been doing in recent years. Earlier in the year these super colourful trainers were seen, it was a collaboration with Japanese brand Atmos, and I loved them. I featured a preview of the Air Max 2 Atmos on the blog, and really thought about getting them as soon as they were released.
I didn’t get them immediately, but I have now, and here’s why…
First of all I have to say happy July. I can’t believe that June is over, and we’re supposed to be well into the Summer now, but other than last week, the weather hasn’t shown it.
Hopefully it will only get better, and we have more T-shirt days, since I’ve bought quite a few T Shirts lately 😉
Have you bought anything in the sales?
They’re always on around my birthday which is both good and bad; It means that if I ever buy anything before my birthday it’s usually more expensive than after it 😀 This year the summer sale seemed to start early, and a couple of days ago I got myself a couple of Pima cotton T Shirts from NN07.
When I think of bucket hats I think of the 90s, and the iconic figures wearing the bucket hats. I can’t remember owning one although I may have done, but I was never much of a fan. It’s been almost 20 years since the 90s, but this trend which was hot in the mid-late 90s now seems to be back.
It was a trend in the 90s which was adopted from people of all fashion worlds; From the Brit Pop rockers like Liam Gallagher to the world of Hip Hop culture, embraced by people like LL Cool J, and as seen on A listers with style such as Samuel L Jackson with the infamous Kangol bucket hats.
So if you’re looking for a 90’s trend and need some headwear, the bucket hat is the way to go. They’re back, with some great options available.
Here’s the best bucket hats you can buy this summer.
Just when you thought you’d missed out, bum bags are back in fashion!
If you are 25 years old or under, then you can be forgiven if you don’t know what a bum bag is, but if you’re like me, and grew up with 90’s fashion trends, then you’ll know all about them, and probably had one, if not a few.
The bum bag was quite iconic, used by many mostly for holidays and festivals, and used to a lesser extend as a general bag to carry around small items for daily use. However times have changed, we carry around a lot of small things, and can occasionally need something to carry them in. From phones to cameras and other tech devices, there’s so much we carry.
If you’re a girl you may get a small bag, but guys tend not to use a bag unless they want to carry around larger items, such as tablets or laptops. So they’re not only practical, but they’ve come into fashion, and love them or hate them, we’ll probably be seeing more and more this season.
What do you wear when you want something smarter than a tee, but less stuffy than a shirt?
Well if you’ve been reading lately you’ll know the answer. One really good option is a polo shirt. One of the pieces of clothing I got for my birthday recently was a polo shirt, and it was this one, a navy colour from Lacoste.
As I mentioned a couple of days ago, it was my birthday, and I got a couple of cool bits of fashion. That includes these 4 tops, namely 2 T Shirts from United Colours Of Benetton and two Henley T Shirts from H&M.
So this weekend it has been a really nice, chilled out and relaxed kind of affair. It was my birthday, and I wanted to just relax for most of the weekend. It was also Midsummer, which means drinking cider, and wearing what now seems to be my obligatory Midsummer t-shirt…Since I wear it once a year
I had a couple of drinks of cider, my favourite which is Rekorderlig. The flavours are so good, and I’ve featured the Rekorderlig botanicals on the blog before. If you’ve never tried them now is the perfect time. They go down really well in the Summer.
For my birthday I got some cool clothes, and so I’ll be posting the outfits and what I got over the coming days and weeks. There’s some nice pieces of menswear which I’ve wanted for a while, and since the sales are on, I’ve bought a few more things which I can’t wait to share.
Speaking of menswear…Fashion Friday. Some people asked where it was. I have tons of style and fashion related features for the summer which I need to do (like the latest floral shirt post) which I’ll be doing for a few weeks – So Fashion Friday aka the must have menswear for the week is taking a little break.
Even though the football season is over, since I am a footy fan, I always find some to watch. Yesterday I watched the Spain U21 vs Poland U21, and what a great match it was. Spain won 5-0 and were brilliant. I also caught the penalties in the women’s world cup with Norway & Australia. Later today England will be playing Cameroon, and tomorrow USA vs Spain.
Here’s a pic of my cake, a novelty cake of course which tasted really good. And then my socks, blue and yellow from Jollies, I really like these socks.
