This weeks’ fragrance review is an older scent, but one I haven’t featured on the blog for some bizarre reason, this is Hugo Red from Hugo Boss.
Hugo Red was released in 2013, and I bought my bottle back then, but I haven’t wrote or feature it. It’s one of many from Hugo Boss, but this is different from the usual BOTTLED lineup which has a massive cult following and plenty of admirers, including myself.
Some people love them, and others think they have no place in a man’s wardrobe. I am talking about a good pair of black chinos.
Chinos are a more casual form of trousers, and the good thing about them is that you can get a huge array of chinos in different colours. Therefore wearing a black pair might not be desirable, some even suggesting that you shouldn’t own a pair.
Depending on what you wear with black chinos, they could have a point. There’s plenty that suggest that pairing black chinos with a white shirt will make you look like a waiter or schoolboy, and I can see where that comes from.
However I like black chinos, and there’s plenty of clothes you can wear with them to make sure you look the part.
Here’s what you can wear with black chinos which will ensure you pull off this look and look stylish.
If there’s one product we should all be using, it’s an anti-perspirant. It’s one of the most basic items you can use for personal hygiene, so it’s something we’ll all have used most of our lives.
I have used a ton of different ones over the years, and lately I have been trying out a new one. It’s the Black Charcoal Dark Wood antiperspirant from Nivea, and this is everything you need to know about it.
I watched the BRITS yesterday as I usually do each year, but they never seem what they used to be. These days the shows always seem a bit drab, boring, too scripted and nothing exciting ever really happens…But The BRITS 2020 was a good one!
As you should know by now if there’s one trend in fashion I have liked over the past 5 or 6 years it’s been the re-birth of the 90’s trend. One of the brands at the centre of that has been Calvin Klein, and they’re at it again with their CK One Capsule Collection.
The tradition for normal people to celebrate Valentines Day, but if you’ve been reading this blog since day one, it’s been a tradition to have Michael Day. It’s not a tradition I can stop, and why would I!? 😀
It’s an absolute eating and drinking fest, and the only food which is allowed is terrible food which is not good for you. That would be lots and lots of chocolate and various carbs, not forgetting lots of alcohol later.
If you’ve seen any of my previous Michael Day’s you’ll have seen me make home made gyros, have filet steak, plenty of champagne and of course you can’t forget the truffles!
I have toned things down in recent years, this year I will have spaghetti bolognese and I’ve already had french toast for brunch/lunch…Something I love but rarely eat.
This usually coincides with pancake day and I call it fat week, however this year that’s not until the end of the month, so there’s 2 weeks to wait for that.
If you are planning a Valentines with a girl I have some helpful posts. Whether you’re looking at what to wear, what fragrance to use, where to go & what to do, or some general style rules, here’s some posts from the blog which will help you out on this day:
Hopefully these will be helpful to you for whatever you’re getting up to tonight.
I also can’t get it go without talking about my style. Since today is all about red, I’ve dug out a red shirt I own, and teamed it up with a V-neck jumper in grey.
I bought this red shirt such a long time ago and rarely worn it. It’s such a bright poppy colour, probably too bold to wear on it’s own. I think it works fine with another darker piece, and I think it works fine with the sweater. For the lower half I’ve kept things dark with some black chinos.
Whatever you’re up to today and tonight, have a good one!
I was having a look through my fragrances to see what I could feature this week, and came across an old scent which I’ve never talked about before, Armani Diamonds For Men.
Armani is known for so many of it’s incredible scents, possible the most favoured, Acqua Di Gio which is almost universally loved.
There’s plenty others, but Armani Diamonds, which was released way back in 2008 never seemed to get too much love. I did buy it back then, and here’s what it’s all about.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, or perhaps not on social media and especially Instagram, you’ll not have missed what’s being called the Dolly Parton Challenge.
If you don’t know, it’s where people upload 4 different photos which are suited best to their profiles on the different social networks. This has been named the Dolly Parton Challenge as she was the first, or one of the first’s to do this, or at least the one who got it to trend.
Bim, Guess What!? (A joke from the show which you’ll understand when you watch it)
James May has branched out on his own and got his own Amazon show without Clarkson and Hammond, Our Man In Japan.
This is of course not the first James May show, with previous shows on the BBC such as Cars Of The People, Toy Stories and The Re-assembler, he’s no stranger at doing TV shows without the other two.
I have always wanted to go to Japan, and I think it’s quite a fascinating place, many people do. When I heard about this show I knew I had to watch it, so I did.
When it comes to shaving gel, and most male grooming products, I am quite regimented in what I use. By that I mean when I find a good product, I tend to stick to it. But I’ve been trying a new product, NIVEA Men Deep Shaving Gel, to see what it’s all about.
