Nike have dropped one of the best shirts and football tracksuits this summer, but it’s not the first time we’ve seen it. The 1998 Brazil home shirt and away track jacket and matching trousers have been reissued, for everyone who wants to buy it from the SNKRS app.
But it will cost you.
Here’s everything you need to know.
Hot on the heels of Adidas reissuing and re-releasing shirts from the 90’s and previous epic football kits, Nike is having their turn. They have re-released the 1998 Brazil home shirt in all it’s glory, as well as the accompanying ‘away’ tracksuit, that’s white with blue.
I’ve already got a few of the Adidas shirts, most recently the Adidas 1996 Spain reissue shirt, and it’s good to
Although the 1998 World Cup will be remembered by the Brazil fans as the one that got away, losing 3-0 to hosts France in the final, and of course the Ronaldo moment, this is still an iconic shirt.
Ronaldo was arguably the best player in the World, I adored him, and he had a fantastic World Cup 98, living up to the billing.
But that was until the final, where he infamously wasn’t on the team sheet, then he was, and there was massive confusion.
It was later revealed that he suffered from a fit the afternoon of the game, but ended up playing anyway.
With that said, you can now buy the 1998 Brazil home shirt, in all it’s glory, and it looks good.
Not only that, they are releasing the home shirt with the Ronaldo 9 print too, in it’s official style, which I think looks great.
If you want the full Brazil ’98 experience, you can get the tracksuit, which comprises of the zip up jacket and bottoms too.
The jacket is white, and just looks so bright and clean, and has blue detailing along with the Nike swoosh and Brazil badge. The bottoms are blue, with the badge and swoosh embroidered on those too.
Now for the bad news, the price.
You can get the Brazil home shirt plain or with the Ronaldo 9 printing, either shirt will set you back £125.
The track jacket comes in at £80, with the bottoms at £75. All in all if you want to look like a Brazilian footballer stepping on the pitch in France ’98, it will set you back £280.
All of these will be available from Nike, SNKRS and END. Clothing will also be stocking this soon.
What do you think of this reissue?
I love it, but not enough to justify spending that amount of money.
Overall I am so glad to see these re-releases and reissues, they have such nostalgic memories, and it’s good that we all have the chance to buy or re-buy these now we’re adults.
