It was Air Max Day last week, and you might have thought that I forgot about it, but I didn’t! Since it’s been a crazy few weeks I didn’t feature it or buy any trainers, but if I did, it would have been a silver pair from the Air Max 90 SP Medal Pack.
Here’s everything you need to know.
If you’re unaware, Nike has done an Air Max Day for several years, and the date is 26th March, each year. They usually release a few collections of trainers, mostly limited edition, and there’s almost always a pair which are really stand out.
My favourite have been the Air Max 90 Medal Pack. I love Air Max 90 in general, but I have been waiting for these metallic colours for a long time. A few years ago Nike released similar trainers, the Air Max 1 and what they called liquid metal colours.
They are a metal chrome type of look, and I think they’re insane. They’re trainers that definitely stand out, but I think they look really cool, especially in silver.
The colours available are gold, silver and bronze, an ode to the medal colours which are awarded. When it comes to must have trainers, these have to be up there with the best of them.
As mentioned I love the silver colour. I have always said that if Nike do another Liquid metal colour that I would definitely buy them, but with what’s gone on lately it’s really made me take a step back from buying things which is a shame.
As with the original liquid metal pack, the medal pack is marketed as a women’s shoe. It’s kind of odd as they’re available in sizes all the way up to 14, which is not typical in a women’s shoe.
What do you think? Would you wear these? I would.
As with most of the limited edition Nike stuff, these sell out pretty fast. The popular sizes are already sold out on the Nike.com website, with a couple of other shops having some stock of them at the moment.
If you can get these they’re priced at £140.
