A lot of the time football and fashion does not mix well, but when a lot of people start talking about it, you know that it’s going to be good. Nike released a brand new AIK Black edition shirt, with an all black design. The shirt comes black on black, with the Nike swoosh, badge and special 1891 logo to the front of the shirt, all done in a tonal black look.

Swedish football is not the biggest talking point in fashion, or in football for that matter. But Nike has created this special edition shirt, celebrating 128 years of the club. As you can guess, it’s sold out. If you know nothing about the club, they won the Allsvenskan (Swedish Premier League) last season, and are based in Stockholm which football fans with European knowledge will know.
This will be a collectors item, but you’re unlikely to see it very much, since it’s not the official home shirt and so won’t be worn in official matches. It’s at the official club shop online here, but there’s little hope of getting it. If you can, expect to pay around £100 (or 1100SEK), it comes in a presentation box with all the proceeds going to the AIK football mentor Program for Youth.
The shirt does look absolutely beautiful, I’ve always loved the black on black look, and it’s been done very well. Last year Nike and AIK done a similar white away kit, with black logos, which was a tribute to the team of 1900 which won their first league title in an all white kit.
