The Newcastle United Cup Final Bus Parade – I Was There!
What a day it was, Saturday 29th March 2025 will go down in history. A stupid thing to say would be it was busier than I thought it would be, but it was.
Here’s all the photos, and how the experience was.
I’ve seen football bus parades on TV before…Spain winning in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2024. It was so brilliant to watch those, but being there, that’s something special.
Did anyone ever think it would happen to Newcastle in our lifetime? After not winning a domestic trophy for 70 years, it’s never looked likely, hopeful but not likely.
But when we won the Carabao Cup on 16th March, a parade through the city had to happen.
I always knew if it would happen then I would go. The first announcement of the event on the town moor was great, but not for me. So many people wanted a parade through the city, and in the end we got both.
It was reported there was 150,000 lining the streets in the town, and 150,000 at the town moor event.
I was in amongst all of the action, walking down from St. James’ Park to Percy Street where I took my spot – Front Row.
The atmosphere leading up to the bus passing was brilliant, and worth it. The bus passing was over in minutes, but it was definitely worth going to this once in a lifetime event, something we’ll never know if we’ll see again.
I saw quite a few players which were on my side of the bus. Harvey Barnes, Lewis Miley, Sandro Tonali, Lewis Hall, Nick Pope and more…And of course Mad Dog Jason Tindall was at the back absolutely loving it!
What a day, and what a great memory.
