Low Fell – In Da Pub

Sunday, 30th October, 2016

nightout-30-11-2016-lowfell-4

Hey guys!

I hope you’ve had a good weekend and enjoyed an extra hour when the clocks went back last night/this morning.

So last night we went out and started at Low Fell for some reason, which is in Gateshead quite out of the way really. I thought it would have been pretty poor, but it was actually pretty good, and it made a change starting the night there. We went to places like The Canon, The Bank and The Beaconsfield. After that we went back to the homeland of Newcastle and went to the Quayside, then ended up in Filthy’s.

Last Night Out In Town – 1st October

Sunday, 2nd October, 2016

saturdaynight-1-10-16-4

Hey guys!

I can’t believe it’s October already, 9 months of 2016 have come and gone and before you know it we’ll be planning for Christmas and 2017! Last night we went out for a couple of drinks down the town, and went to a couple of bars including Lola Jeans, Mushroom, Browns, Bacchus and Fitzgeralds. The above image is of Grey Street which a lot of these bars are on, and was voted Britain’s finest street years and years ago which is pretty cool.

There’s the Snow Dogs dotted all over Newcastle for the St. Oswald’s Hospice charity, so I had to get a couple of pics of them 😛 There’s an app on the app store if you want to track them all down, it’s called Great North Snowdogs. Each one is decorated individually and designed by Wild In Art.

Here’s a couple of pics below from last night. I hope you’ve had a great weekend 🙂

Daily Style – Green And Blue Check Shirt

Monday, 12th September, 2016

me-12-9-2016-1

Isn’t the saying blue and green should never be seen?

This is one of my favourite casual shirts, it’s from Mango MAN. I wore this with a white tee a couple of weeks ago and I think it’s a really good combination.

Autumn is here but it’s actually been really nice weather which is always odd…Every year we seem to have really great Septembers, but the actual Summer months of August and July always seem underwhelming, right?

I love Autumn fashion and style, as well as Autumn knits I think that layering up some check shirts is a really cool style, and works just as well in early Autumn as it does in Spring. I wore this shirt with a Derek Rose premium white T-shirt, one of my favourite white tees.

I’ve featured this is my basic T-shirt guide which I written about a while ago and collaborated with the best premium basic companies, and this one is definitely one of my favourites. You can’t really see the jeans, but they’re black soft denim from Armani Jeans.

Why I Love Blogging In Newcastle/North East

Friday, 2nd September, 2016

michael-84-gant-jumper-tyne-2

Hey guys!

As you all know, I am from Newcastle and think that it’s a pretty cool city as far as the UK goes. Sure, it’s not London, but what city is! I’ve read from other bloggers that having a blog up here, or even anywhere which is outside of London can make you feel a bit on the outside, because everything is so London-centric.

Craft Beers Available At Morrisons

Craft Beer Range At Morrisons

Craft beers have become a big thing over the past several years, in fact I read that starting a microbrewery was one of the biggest start-ups for beer loving entrepreneurs a couple of years ago. However you don’t need to worry about the business behind the ale to enjoy it.

Whether you’re new to Craft Beers or an enthusiast, Morrisons have a great range for you to try out. Morrisons kindly sent some over for me to try, including some of their Summer favourites.

Beach City Style At The Coast

Tuesday, 26th July, 2016

Beach Style Which Works in the city too

As you’ll have already read, last week we had the best Summer’s day of the year (so far), it was really hot so I decided to go to the beach and walk along the coast. There were lots of guys walking around the promenade and even in the city with their shirts off…We get 1 hot day in Newcastle and England and people definitely overreact! You should definitely keep your shirt on, if you want to take it off save that for when you are at the beach, on the sand or in the water, or if you’re lucky enough to be by a pool.

I love the nautical style for Summer, and I have 3 or 4 different striped tees, they’re all fairly similar. Summer also means lighter bottoms which I like, it gives me a chance to wear some coloured or lighter chinos or jeans. I think when it comes to picking out your clothing for something like this, you need to choose something versatile which can work in both a city situation around a lot of people, and the beach location which will be a lot more relaxed.

I wore this Nautical T-Shirt from ASOS, a pair of light chinos from Mango and my Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Moire which I really love. It’s finished off with my Ran Ban Aviators and my D&G watch.

Saturday Night Out – 23rd July

Sunday, 24th July, 2016

Michael 84 out in Revolution

Hey guys!

So we went out last night in Newcastle and headed for the usual places…I say that, but actually we went to a couple of bars which I really like, but have not been to in a while. It was a really busy Saturday night, since it was ladies day at Newcastle Racecourse everyone from there always head into the town to carry on their night, so everywhere was pretty packed. We went to Revolution and Tokyo, two places I love, if you don’t know about them you should definitely read about them in my Newcastle bars pages. Other bars we went to were The Milecastle, The Long Bar, Mimo, and The Mushroom. Revolution is one of the best bars because of the building and layout as you can see in the pic above, and Tokyo has a sweet outdoor terrace, perfect for the Summer.

Sorry for the bad image quality, they are from my phone! 😛 You can also check out a little video of Revolution which I put up on my Snapchat. I wore my Thomas Pink navy shirt with black Nudie Jeans and my suede shoes from Kurt Geiger. It felt weird not wearing a jacket, I’ve never been on a night out without a blazer or jacket since last year, so it was fairly strange 😀

Hottest July Day In The UK / Newcastle

Tuesday, 19th July, 2016

beach-days-19july-2016-9

Hey guys!

So today was the hottest day of the year so far…Which will probably mean the hottest day of the year full stop 😛

I decided to make the most of it and headed down to the beach…The good thing about living in Newcastle is that it’s really close to the coast, so I went to all of our coastal places; Tynemouth, Cullercoats and Whitley Bay which are all next door to each other. There’s a few beaches such as Longsands and King Edwards Bay, which I think is the best one.

It looks like everyone else had the same idea, I was there quite early but the beaches were starting to fill up pretty quickly. I then headed into Newcastle where we have Seaside at the Quayside…A really cool idea which has been going for a couple of years now. We have a little beach right on the quayside, which comes complete with sand, chairs and of course beach huts. What other place has this in the middle of their city?! 😀

I hope you had a great day today, hopefully it will be one of many, and we’ll get more over the weekends rather than a “work” day 😉

Hard Rock Café Mallorca T Shirt

Mallorca Hard Rock Cafe T Shirt

My collection of Hard Rock Café T Shirts keeps on growing, I recently got one from Mallorca as a present.

I’ve got so many now, most from places I’ve been to, and others as presents because I sort of collect them…Well, I buy one from whatever city I go to if they have a Hard Rock Café 😉

This one is navy blue and has a distressed Hard Rock graphic on the front.

Where will my next one be from…Who knows 😉

VQ Blighty Pocket DAB+ FM Radio

Monday, 11th July, 2016

vq-blighty-radio

I cannot imagine not having the radio in my life. It’s something which I wake up to, and have done for so many years, from school days right up to today, I still love the radio in the days of online which I obviously love too.

VQ got in touch with me to feature one of their cool radios and put it through it’s paces, so I naturally said I would. If you’ve not heard of VQ you can sum them up in a few words; Stylish, British and colourful. With that in mind you’ll understand the naming of the models of their products, this pocket radio has been named Blighty, and comes in traditional colours of dark grey, and red and cream. Style and colour are two important key factors to the design, which has a high quality anodised aluminium finish and plastic chrome style buttons.

DAB+ Radio

I am new to DAB, very new. I have always wanted a DAB radio, but I’ve never actually went out and got myself one. If you’re unfamiliar with DAB, it’s Digital Audio Broadcasting, which basically means digital quality, and there’s more stations than what’s on the standard FM dial. There’s lots of stations which I listen to on TV via Freeview or SKY because they’re not on FM, which is kind of odd listening to the radio through your TV, but it’s the only way. I was a fan of the Chris Moyles Breakfast Show, and was sad when it left Radio 1, but now he’s back on Radio X. This is a DAB only station, so it’s not on FM and so I’ve had to listen to it via SKY. Now I will be able to listen to it on a morning once again but through the Blighty radio.

Other stations on there which I love is 1Xtra, my favourite show being Charlie Sloth (the best looking fat guy in the universe) on weekdays. It has traditional FM stations too, so you can listen to Radio 1 or 2, or any of the other stations on there.

As for the Blighty itself the build quality is pretty good, it’s fairly small and is easily pocketable in jeans or a jacket, and the battery is said to last 10 hours, so if you’re using this on your morning commute to work it should last for a good few days if not all week. It comes with a USB charger cable and pair of ear bud style headphones and has a small 1.6″ screen which is big enough to tell you details including the station, battery life, time and signal quality, as well as the digital read out which the station is using…Usually for the artist and song title; I find this so cool since I’ve never had that feature before, there’s no more wondering what the song is which I love 😉

You can get this from the VQ shop online here for £49 in either the red or grey colours.
