War Dogs For Film Night

Sunday, 21st October, 2018

It’s another week and another film night! This week I watched War Dogs, a film from 2016 which I had seen previews of years ago, then forgot about. I was browsing around Amazon Prime and noticed that it had been added, so I thought I would give it a watch.

It’s based on a true story about two guys who would be arms dealers, eventually getting a deal to work for the pentagon which would be worth $300 million dollars. The guys are in way over their heads, it’s the biggest deal they’ve ever done, and things start to go wrong. It stars Jonah Hill as Efraim Diveroli and Miles Teller as David Packouz, who are two best friends, along with Ana de Armas as Iz, David’s girlfriend, and Bradley Cooper as Henry Girard, an arms dealer.

The Bold Type Season 2

Wednesday, 10th October, 2018

I finally watched season 2 of one of my new favourite TV shows, The Bold Type! It’s on Amazon in the UK, and I came across it last year and thought season 1 was brilliant, so I was happy when a second season was announced, and it was released in the Summer. The World Cup was on, so I was all focused on that, but I finally sat down and watched season 2, and it was just as good as the first.

Molly’s Game For Film Night

Sunday, 30th September, 2018

Hey guys!

So for my latest film night I watched Molly’s Game. I actually wanted to watch this last week, but it’s on for quite a long time (over 2 hours) and I didn’t have enough time. But when I realised it was on for such a long time, I made sure that I was able to watch it, and I’m glad I did.

It’s a film I had never heard of before, and is based on a true story, the memoirs of Molly Bloom who is the main character played by Jessica Chastain. After watching the trailer I thought it looked like a really good story, so decided to sit down and watch it.

Restaurants Are Overrated & A Waste Of Money [Unpopular Opinion]

Wednesday, 26th September, 2018

More and more people are going out to eat, and there’s more and more places to eat in. But for me, restaurants are over rated and a waste of money. Yes, it’s going to be an unpopular opinion, but it’s a one which I’ve had for years, and firmly believe.

If you’re a foodie or someone who loves to go out to eat I’ll probably never change your mind, and it does seem like everyone loves to go out to eat, but I don’t see why.

My relationship with food is when I’m hungry, I eat. That’s it. I have some food I like, but mostly, I am a fussy eater, which I’ll get into later.

Here’s some of the reasons why restaurants are over rated.

Spandau Ballet Film – Soul Boys of the Western World

Sunday, 23rd September, 2018

So for my latest film night I was running short on time and it was quite late, so couldn’t watch something with a long run time. I didn’t know what kind of film I was in the mood for, but I do love documentary-style films, and came across Soul Boys of the Western World, the Spandau Ballet film.

I am not a Spandau Ballet fan, their music and their time was well before mine, but I do know their songs, like everyone else in the world. They were big, huge in this country, and it all ended as it usually does with groups or bands.

The Boat That Rocked – Film Night

Sunday, 9th September, 2018

Happy Sunday!

I was having a browse around at what films to watch, and I came across The Boat That Rocked. It’s not a new film and was released in 2009 but I hadn’t seen it before, and the title can be a bit misleading because it could literally be about anything.

It’s written and directed by Richard Curtis and stars Bill Nighy among others, and is a comedy style film set in the 1960’s and is based on a true story surrounding pirate radio.

The Duff For Film Night (Review)

Sunday, 2nd September, 2018

It was another film night, I checked out to see what there was to watch, and I came across a film which I almost forgot about, The Duff which came out in 2015. I remember seeing some clips of this and wanted to watch it ages ago but it slipped me by, but I finally watched it last night. I don’t really know how I feel about it.

I love teen films, they’re great, and that’s what this is. It has a lot to live up to with a lot of other good films in the genre which were made back in the late 90’s and early 00’s, but I thought this could be a good one.

Manchester City – All Or Nothing Documentary Review

Thursday, 30th August, 2018

What can I say about the Manchester City All Or Nothing Documentary which is on Amazon Prime? Incredible? Amazing? Brilliant? Yes, it’s all of them!

I’ve just finished watching all the episodes in All or Nothing, which is an Amazon Prime documentary which delves into Manchester City for the past year, showcasing everything about the club from the previous season. It is a brilliant watch, if you like football and even if you don’t support Man City, you’ll love watching this.
