It’s a brand new month, which means more trainer talk!
As of now there isn’t too many hot releases, but there’ll be some coming in the weeks ahead. Nike, Adidas & others have plenty on offer for Christmas, and there’s not many weeks to go.
But something even bigger happened that I want to talk about. A trademark was filed by Nike, and it looks like they may have plans to enter the metaverse.
Here’s the latest trainers for November 2021. As always, you can check out the current latest trainers here.
So it all started with Facebook (kind of). If you don’t know or hadn’t heard, the parent company to Facebook is now called META, and will focus on the metaverse. What’s that?
Basically an online world, a universe, aka metaverse. Think in terms of the Internet, but it will be more immersive and feature things like VR. You’ll be “in” the metaverse rather than being “on” the Internet.
Facebook didn’t start this idea, but they’re one of the first huge companies to really embrace it, and put it out there that they’re putting focus (and money) on that.
What does this have to do with trainers and Nike in particular?
Well, Nike recently filed trademarks for it’s name, Swoosh logo and other branding in categories surrounding virtual things.
That means potentially that when you’re in whatever metaverse you choose, you could be able to buy your virtual self Nike trainers. Pretty cool if you’re into it.
Anyway with that brief trainer news, these are the few pairs of trainers that have caught my eye so far this month.
Air Max 1 x PATTA
Nike have teamed up with PATTA and come up with this version of the Air Max 1. The colourway is being dubbed Noise Aqua, and was released last week.
With a light blue and white upper, they are a fairly muted pair of trainers. I’m not sure how this colour will stack up in these winter months, but if you’re on the hunt for a light trainer, these can be considered.
If you can get your hands on these, they retail for £145 at Nike.
Air Max BW Lyon
I love the Nike Air Max BW collection which has been brought back from 1991. I’ve featured a few pair over the months, and November is no different with the Air Max BW Lyon.
They come in typical BW styling, this colourway is black, white and grey. Each tongue is different, with the Nike wording and swoosh on one, and the Lyon branding on the other.
The trainers are finished up with Lyon branding to the back of the heel.
These come in at £125 at Nike.
Converse x Thisisneverthat Chuck Taylor
Talk about boots with the fur, the Converse x Thisisneverthat pair of trainers showcase exactly that. These pair of Chuck Taylor High Tops are a collab with the Korean based streetwear label, and will turn heads.
They feature a yellow/cream colour with a furry and hairy suede upper, off-white midsole and green outsole, with a custom ankle patch.
You can grab these over at Converse now for £90.
And that’s a wrap for the latest trainers in November 2021.
