One of the coolest collaborations of the Summer launched a few days ago at Selfridges between the two iconic brands, Gumball 3000 famed for it’s car adventures stretching 3000 miles, and Kappa, one of the go-to retro sportswear brands of Italy. I was going to feature a few pieces in my last fashion Friday, but I thought the capsule collection deserved to shine in a post of it’s own.
Here’s some of the key pieces from the capsule collection which caught my eye.
Kappa is known for it’s logo, the Banda pattern which is repeated down the sides of jackets, t-shirts, track pants and everything else, and it’s present here, along with large logos. Since the gumball is very much about driving across 3000 miles in the summer sun, the designs incorporate a sunset kind of colour theme to them, which always looks really good.
This year’s rally takes place between Mykonos and Ibiza, so these pieces will really look the part on the journey.
First of all I have to talk about the football shirts which are on offer. I simply love them, especially the sunset shirt with the black detailing. If that’s too much of a bold statement, there’s also a black shirt on offer, with the contrasting sunset colours in the detailing and logos. You can team that up with a track jacket, and if the football style jersey’s aren’t to your liking, there’s a white tee too.
The track jacket is complimented with the matching bottoms, as well as a racing jacket on offer should you need it. There’s also a specially designed bum bag too, if you’re looking for one of those this summer.
Lastly I’ve picked out a standard black T-shirt, a mesh T Shirt and a bucket hat. These are such cool laid back pieces which will be great for this season, and of course come with the sunset colour scheme as all the rest of the pieces, with the Kappa logo and 3000 branding to the front.
There are a few other pieces on offer, including a larger duffle bag and pair of flip flops, all in black colour with the stand out colour pattern on them all.
You can pick up these pieces starting at £40 for the T-shirts, with those epic football shirts costing £100 each.
Let me know what you think of these pieces, which are available exclusively at Selfridges.
