You can check out my older guides from Christmas past in the 2016, 2015 and 2014 guide, but this is all about 2017, and so here’s my guide and tips for this year!
What Day Is Christmas Jumper Day?
Christmas Jumper Day is Friday 15th December 2017, where you can not only wear a cheesy novelty jumper, but also you can donate to Save The Children if you want to show your support to the charity.
Several weeks back I heard about something new brewing at MR. Porter, it was a new collection not only being sold by the luxury online retailer, but also designed by them. This is MR P., and it officially launched online yesterday.
You probably don’t need me to tell you about MR. Porter; Which is one of the homes to rare, sought after, expensive or luxury clothing labels in menswear, where you can find everything from Balenciaga to Vetements to Acne Studios, as well as street wear premium labels such as Common Projects, Adidas Originals and Scandi style from brands like No Nationality. The campaign said that it would be a range of clothes that they have themselves always wanted, stylish and understated, affordable but made to the highest standard. Here’s my picks from the 50+ capsule collection.
I have a few suits…In fact I probably have too many if I’m completely honest, considering I don’t wear a full suit all too often (I love just a blazer or jacket though), I’d say that I possibly have more than I need.
As you’ll know from reading my blog over the past year or so, I’ve got a new found love for socks. Socks have always been an essential item, but recently they’ve taken on a whole new persona for themselves. No longer are they that boring item which you don’t really care about but buy out of necessity, but a stylish item of it’s own to team up with the rest of your outfit. I have got on board with the sock trend, and have quite a few pairs from different brands, but there’s a new brand which is doing something I’ve not seen before, that’s prince + pete.
It’s a term you may have heard if you’ve been looking for a pair of jeans.
What is raw denim?
Raw denim is denim which is untreated and has not gone through a wash process. It’s also called dry denim, and is the purest form of denim for a pair of jeans. Raw denim is usually solid, with no distressing or rips.
The idea is you get the untreated denim and with your own wear and tear, create your own imprint in the denim over time.
For the purpose of this guide we’ll say there’s two different types of denim; Raw denim, which is sometimes called dry denim, and washed denim.
These two terms are quite self explanatory, with raw denim being unwashed and washed being, well washed.
Have you noticed how much yellow is around right now!?
I love the yellow fashion trend for Autumn. It’s not a particular colour which is synonymous for Autumn, but it’s one which I have noticed over the past several weeks, and it’s one I really like. Now the colder weather is here it’s time to wrap up and layer up, and what better way than with sweatshirts!
There are so many different yellow shades and tones, from mustard to bright yellow and a more pastel, pale yellow, which is my favourite. I have spotted this trend, but there’s actually not a lot of choice out there.
My preference to sweats these days is sweatshirts over hoodies, but there’s still a lot of hoodies which menswear brands are releasing. Sweatshirts have regained popularity in the past year or so, and you can check out my sweatshirt guide for everything you need to know about sweats and how to style them.

I hope you are well, the weather is turning and we’re really starting to get into Autumn right about now. That means a bit of a change up in the wardrobe, wearing more knits and sweats, and less Summer clothing.
It also means a change over of jackets, from my denim jackets to leather.
H&M have released their edition line for Autumn 2017, and they have some great pieces for this season. Whether you’re looking to refresh your current wardrobe or you need to start a brand new Autumn line up for a new look, there’s plenty on offer. You’ll probably know H&M for it’s basics line with cheap and inexpensive clothing, but they do have premium offerings, and their latest line is called Edition, which made an appearance last season too.
I have found some really nice looking pieces from the collection, these classic pieces are higher quality than the main H&M line, and are perfect when you want to create an outfit. The good thing about the basics is you can select a few pieces and make up a large number of different outfits, with neutral colour palettes and staple wears it’s easy to style these.

Today’s Fashion Question: Can Men Wear Women’s Jeans?
The short Answer: My advice is no, not women’s jeans, but skinny jeans…Yes. Read more below.
There’s been a rise and rise of men wearing women’s jeans, in fact it’s been so much of a trend that a lot of menswear brands and clothing labels have picked up on this and started doing slimmer and slimmer fitting jeans.
Wearing skinny jeans or slim jeans which have been designed for men is fine, but those manufactured for women is not recommended.
There’s lots of new cuts and styles which are popular today; From slim fit to skinny, and then going down to super skinny jeans, which get the term drainpipe jeans or painted on jeans.
Of course they’re not actually painted on, but they’re so tight it would look like they are.
If you’ve ever read any of my fashion tips or style advice from virtually anyone, we all say the same thing: The fit is king.
Balenciaga is back making waves in the street wear fashion scene, and have some pretty nice pieces for this season which have been getting people talking, and not only talking, but snapping up the high priced, high end fashion label.
They had their IKEA bag which was a bit of a gimmick, but for Autumn 2017 there’s some pieces which are seriously hot.
