The World Cup is only week’s away, and it’s the first ever appearance for Iceland in the big competition. On the field they’ve got a tough group, having to contend with Argentina, Nigeria and Croatia, and off the field 66 Degrees North has released a capsule collection in time for the tournament.
The collection consists of hoodies, T-shirts, tracksuits, shorts and accessories including hat, bumbag, scarf and bag.
So since we’re getting into the Summer, I thought I better upgrade my Summer style and add a couple of things. Some of these you’ll have seen before, because I’ve featured them in a little preview, and they’re all from Uniqlo.
I’ve never bought anything from Uniqlo before, but they’ve been on my radar for years. Since they don’t have any shops near me, I’ve had to buy them online. They only seem to sell them on their own site, so it’s never been a huge priority to sign up and get some things.
But I finally have, and this is what I’ve got!
I picked up a linen shirt in blue, white Supima cotton T Shirt in white, and some chinos in a cream colour. Basically a whole outfit, and the cost? Less than £50! I am really happy with the quality of all the items, the fit is good, so here’s the details on each piece.
Tommy Hilfiger has released a new capsule collection for the Tommy Jeans brand, bringing yet more 90’s culture and retro style to your wardrobe.
There’s been plenty of Tommy Jeans drops in the past few years, all being a massive success, including Summer 2017 and their 90’s inspired 2016 capsule collection. For this year, the capsule collection is 35 piece strong, and includes everything from T-shirts to sweatshirts, jackets, hoodies, trainers and accessories such hats, bags and everyone’s 90’s favourite accessory, the bumbag.
Filled with red, white and blue, I have put together a few of my favourites in my style edit, which features key pieces from the collection.
I saw a preview of the Aimé Leon Dore Spring/Summer 18 collection a while back, and it’s made it’s way into the UK, and is available to buy now from stockists.
I’ve not covered much from the brand, and it could be a new one to some of you. In a nutshell, Aimé Leon Dore is a brand which was born in Queens New York and is a premium streetwear label. Key pieces are minimalist and clean in design, something which I’ve really embraced in the past few years. We’ve had a lot of Scandi-style from the European brands which I love, and this is another one from America which has a similar aesthetic to those.
For this season, there’s plenty of pieces which cover the pastel hue of the colour palette, something which I really like. There’s toned down colours, the staple black, white, navy and greys as well as some bright colours which really pop.
Here’s my edit and some of the pieces which caught my eye.
I got this sweatshirt quite a few weeks ago, but to be honest I forgot all about it! It’s the 90’s throwback Nickelodeon sweatshirt, which features characters from some cartoons from the 90’s which were on Nickelodeon.
As a kid I used to watch Nickelodeon a lot; It was my channel of choice from around the ages of 11 – 15; Before that we had CITV and after we had the likes of Trouble, but for those years, it was all about Nick.
There were some pretty epic shows, from the likes of Sister Sister, Kenan and Kel, Sabrina, Clarissa, Alex Mack and how can I forget the best of them all, Renford Rejects. All of those were in the older years, but when I was younger, I loved cartoons (Who am I kidding, I still do!)
I got myself a couple of Easter presents, and got some of the new Levi’s ringer T shirts for Spring and Summer this year.
I really love ringer tees. They were popular in culture and fashion in the 70’s where they really made their mark, and were still big in the 80’s, but since then, they’ve never really been that hot in menswear fashion or life in general.
But I’ve always really like them, and never really owned one, and now I’ve got two. Both of these feature two of the Levi’s logos which have been gaining in popularity over the past year or so. You’ll remember I got two levi’s t-shirts last year, plain tees which have these logos.
Adidas has unveiled the away kit for Spain for the 2018 World Cup, and it could be the worst looking kit in it’s history…The goalkeeper shirt at least.
Spain 2018 Away Kit
First of all let’s start with the away kit. Usually Spain’s away shirt has been white, blue or occasionally yellow. This one looks mostly white/silver in colour, but has an all-over pattern on the shirt which is very light blue, which Adidas are calling Halo blue.
The pattern comes from the 80’s, Adidas are utilising retro designs in their shirts for this years World Cup. The Spain 2018 home shirt was unveiled several months ago, and pays homage to the USA 94 shirt.
Exactly which shoes, and which style are must have for any man’s wardrobe? If you’re thinking any of these question, you’re in the right place. I am going to go through what I think are the shoes that every man should own, or to put it correctly, the footwear every man should own.
My shoe collection was terrible! I think we can all say we’ve been there at one stage or another, and maybe some are still there, but have no fear, this is the guide to help you. Back when I was younger I used to only footwear for 2 occasions; Smart and going out shoes, and then a pair for everything else.
This consisted of 1 nice, smart pair of shoes, which were usually derby or oxford, and then a pair of trainers for everyday wear. I hated shoes! This probably stemmed from having to wear them for school, walking around all day in uncomfortable footwear doesn’t exactly get you to fall in love with them, not to mention teenage years being forced to do something!
But then as we all get older and develop style, I have found a love for shoes and footwear, not only a love, but an appreciation. It can be anything; From high end pieces to classic pop culture Converse, Made In England shoes with proper workmanship or street style, whatever your preference there’s never been a better time to get into footwear.
With all of that said, what shoes does a man need in his wardrobe? Let’s get into it!
When it comes to colours in style, I am a fan of the staple and toned down colours; Blues, Greys, black and white. But I do love to inject a splash of colour every now and then, here and there.
The new Calvin Klein True Colours Collection is all about bright, bold colours, and have some really nice pieces this season, whether you love to take your colour popping to the max, or just like to add it with one piece of clothing, there’s something available.
You may remember last year I was talking about getting a pair of white trainers, and I was torn between getting a pair of Adidas Stan Smith’s, or a pair of triple white Air Max. I went for the white Air Max, but for this year I’ve finally got a pair of Stan Smith trainers!
I love my Air Max, there’s no doubt, and I have a ton, probably too many if there’s such a thing. They’re so comfortable, cool and I can walk around in these all day and my feet are absolutely fine, which can’t be said for something like my Converse All Star trainers.
