Craft Beer Range At Morrisons

Craft beers have become a big thing over the past several years, in fact I read that starting a microbrewery was one of the biggest start-ups for beer loving entrepreneurs a couple of years ago. However you don’t need to worry about the business behind the ale to enjoy it.

Whether you’re new to Craft Beers or an enthusiast, Morrisons have a great range for you to try out. Morrisons kindly sent some over for me to try, including some of their Summer favourites.

We have a Brewdog bar in Newcastle, but Morrisons stock a collection of different Brewdog ales, so you can enjoy your favourites or try something new at home. Their Dog Pack contains 12 bottles, with 3 bottles of 4 different flavours. The variety includes Punk IPA, Dead Pony Club, 5AM Saint and Jack Hammer for a very reasonable £16 which you can buy here.

With over 40 lines from well-known and independent breweries across the UK, USA and Australia, check out the range available at Morrisons, which is continually being updated. Here’s a look at the couple of bottles which they sent over.

Brewdog Vagabond Gluten Free is a Pale Ale which melds citrus and tropical hop flavours with a light caramel malt base, backed up with a raucously resinous bitterness. They say it’s full tilt, full flavour and zero gluten.

5AM Saint is as malty as it is hoppy, with 5 malts and 6 hops, and is 5% abv in strength. The American Red Ale will give you notes of berry, marmalade, caramel and chocolate with the bitterness and sweetness all neatly messed up.

Elvis Juice is a winner just from the name, and is a grapefruit infused IPA which is 6.5% apv. It’s a fruity, zesty attack on the senses, with a collision of grapefruit, orange and peach being the cocktail of hoppy flavours.

Marshall Rock N Roll Craft beer has a look which will be familiar to anyone who loves live music, gigs and rock and roll. The infamous Marshall Amp design is featured on the front of the bottle, which is a 6.0% blonde craft beer. A rich full bodied taste with fruity and spicy notes, it has a clean crisp finish.

Intergalactic Space Hopper has a name which is out of this world, and they say the beer is too. It’s a very hoppy craft beer, 5.2% apv, with a real citrus kick.

Brewdog 5AM Saint tastes really nice!

Brewdog Elvis Juice Tasting Review

Brewdog Vgabond Gluten Free Review

So far I have tried the 5AM SaintElvis Juice and Vagabond and I really like them all. 5AM Saint is an interesting colour for beer, and you can really taste the berry as soon as you drink it, but the kick of the traditional beer taste is present. It’s really easy to drink, if you want to try a red ale I can definitely recommend this. Elvis Juice has a similar type of beer taste, but you get the scent and taste of grapefruit. It’s really refreshing and the fruity style is really palatable. Vagabond Gluten Free does not have as strong fruity notes as the previous two, but it’s more traditional with lighter notes and goes down really easily.

I can’t wait to try out the rest of the range, which are available at Morrisons here. All these craft beers are available for £1.65 each, or you can get 4 for £6.

  3. alexv Said,

The Elvis Juice is really good, refreshing and something you wouldn’t get from a normal beer. I drink it all the time.
