I went to Tivoli when I was in Copenhagen….Actually I went twice!
On my first night I went, and after an hour or so it started to rain, my camera battery actually died because I was taking photos all day, I do have a spare but did not take it out with me since I’ve never ran a battery out in only one day!
Anyway I went back the next night because it’s such a great place.
At Christmas it truly is a Winter Wonderland, and it’s definitely a good way to spend an evening or two (or more!). There’s so much to do; If you just want to walk around and take it all in you can, there’s plenty to see and lots of places to eat and drink.
If you’re up for going on rides there’s lots of those too, from The Monsoon to The Ferris Wheel, rollercoasters and what I think is the scariest thing I’ve ever seen, Vertigo. It looks absolutely terrifying, I stood right under it and that was scary enough!
The rollercoaster is really built into the park, and parts of it is lit up. There’s a tree with red heart lights which I am calling the tree of hearts π
I saw the Christmas light show (twice) which was really nice on the lake, and there’s so much Christmassy stuff, plenty of trees which are decorated very nicely!
If you go to Copenhagen you have to go to Tivoli, it’s not just an amusement park which I’m not much of a fan of, there’s plenty more like a theatre and so many eateries from simple fast food to more formal settings. Check out their site for more info and everything Tivoli here.
Here’s my photos π
Wow, Copenhagen looks a great place to visit at Christmas, brilliant photographs! I imagine the trip got you in the festive spirit with all the lights and market stalls – the city looks really picturesque too π
