When it comes to colours in style, I am a fan of the staple and toned down colours; Blues, Greys, black and white. But I do love to inject a splash of colour every now and then, here and there.
The new Calvin Klein True Colours Collection is all about bright, bold colours, and have some really nice pieces this season, whether you love to take your colour popping to the max, or just like to add it with one piece of clothing, there’s something available.
The colours which pop from this collection are red and yellow. I have loved yellow for a long time in menswear, and don’t see the popularity of the colour slowing down, no matter what hue you go for.
I have searched for the perfect yellow sweatshirt over the Winter and sadly didn’t find one, but the CK range has some pieces ready for the warmer weather which might fit the bill.
Red is another powerful colour, and is present in a few of the pieces. It can be a hard colour to pull off, it will definitely get you noticed, but it can always be toned down by wearing it with other colours.
For a complete overload you can wear all red, like the model in the Calvin Klein shoots, and it doesn’t really look out of place at all.
Here’s my edit of some of the key pieces which I like from the collection.
First up is the red basic T Shirt. I can see this being worn on it’s own or with a jacket, a contrasting colour would be my preferred choice, and I think a bomber would work well. The T-shirt is combed cotton and has a raw finish. It comes in at £30.
Bold coloured denim is always hard to pull off, but if you’re brave enough or are able to do it, I really love the bright yellow denim. They will look great in the Summer, and can be worn with black as shown to colour block and really stand out. They are £110 which you can get.
It’s still a bit chilly, so a sweatshirt it still a good option. If you’ve read my sweatshirt guide then you’ll know of my reunited love of the casual piece of menswear, and I really like these tops from Calvin Klein. The white with the red stripe is my choice, but it does come in navy and black if you prefer a darker colour. That comes in at £90.
If the brightest, boldest colours aren’t your thing, there’s this sweat, which is available in a camel-beige type of colour Calvin Klein is calling Safari. It’s plain and stylish and comes with the CK logo patch embroidered to the bottom of the front of the top. It comes in at £85.
Continuing with the yellow theme, I love this tee, and think it will be stylish throughout the Spring and Summer, when the weather gets better. It has the 1978 logo in a block form which is made from flock, and comes in at £45.
Finally it’s the CK box logo tee in classic white. The box logo itself is red in colour, in keeping with the theme of the True Colours collection, with the CK branding in black. This tee also comes in a range of colours, but I’ve picked out white. It costs £45 and you can get it.
That’s it for my edit. I’ve picked out what I think are the best pieces from the collection, which also includes jackets, trainers and bags to complete any men’s spring outfit.
Will you be going bold this season with colour?
