One of my favourite films growing up as a kid was Beverly Hills Cop. There’s been 3 films in the franchise, the first 2 in the mid and late 80’s, a third followed in the late 90’s and now there’s a 4th!
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F has officially been announced and will be on Netflix in summer 2024.
I can’t wait to see it! Check out more about it and get a first look at the trailer below.
The whole gang is back together! There’s Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy), Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) are re-united for the first time since Beverly Hills Cop 2, but it’s not just those characters who are back.
Jeffrey Friedman (Paul Reiser) is back, Axel’s under appreciated partner in Detroit, and there’s also a return for Serge (Bronson Pinchot) who is one of the most memorable characters (ACK-WELL!!!)
This is what Netflix has to say about the film:
Detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) is back on the beat in Beverly Hills. After his daughter’s life is threatened, she (Taylour Paige) and Foley team up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy.
I had heard about a follow up film to the trilogy and was really excited, but didn’t really believe it would happen. Well it did and it has, and next summer we’ll all be able to watch it.
The first two films are my favourite by far. I remember watching both as a kid, I must have seen them more than 100 times over the course of 30 years. I actually bought the original on blu ray years ago, and have wanted to get the second too.
It will be interesting to see the new characters and storyline, and see how much action there is in the film. The originals were from the 80’s, with classic car chase scenes, gun shoot-outs, girls and general lewd behaviour with an amazing soundtrack.
Everything a classic 80’s film should have!
I already like the look of the new film. I have watched the trailer a couple of times and I can’t help but smile every time I watch it.
Check it out below.
The summer will be here in no time.
