When it comes to fragrances, Armani have had a lot of great scents over the years, and they continue to do so. They are a well known Italian fashion brand, but they’ve also created some really nice smelling men’s fragrances over the years too.
I currently own a few Armani aftershaves, and have owned plenty over the years.
These are the best Armani fragrances which I have owned or tried over the years.
Acqua Di Gio By Giorgio Armani
Starting off with a fragrance that’s quite possibly the most famous from Armani, it’s Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio Eau de toilette.
This classic fragrance is still available now, even though it was first released in 1996. It’s one of those legendary fresh men’s aftershaves, comparable to Issey Miyake L’eau de Issey, Boss Bottled EDT and CK One.
A fresh fragrance with a big kick of citrus and white musk, it’s a universal fragrance that can work in any situation and you’ll just smell good.
Top Notes – Jasmine, Rosemary, Hespiradic Notes
Middle Notes – Persimmon Fruits, Marine Notes
Base Notes – Cedar, Patchouli, White Musk, Rock Rose
Best season to wear – Spring/Summer
Scent type – Citrus, Fresh, Aromatic
Age Recommendation – 21+
Best Worn – Day wear, evening, office, casual, smart.
Acqua Di Gio Profondo
My favourite from the Acqua di Gio line by Armani, Acqua di Gio Profondo is a brilliant aftershave.
It’s got the freshness of the original, but this has a marine or sea kind of style to it. It’s got a green fragrance flavour to it, and that mixed with the aquatic means that it’s such a nice fragrance to wear.
I love to wear this one during the day, best worn in spring and summer.
Best Worn – Daytime, Evening, Casual, Formal
Top Notes: Bergamot, Green Mandarin
Middle Notes: Rosemary, Lavender, Cypress, Lentisk
Base Notes: Patchouli, Musk, Mineral Amber Accord
Scent type – Aquatic, Aromatic, Marine, Green-Citrus
Age Recommendation – 18+
Armani Code For Men
One of my favourite fragrances of all time, Armani Code is a brilliant men’s scent that’s just so inviting. Launched in 2004, I got a bottle around 2005/06 and fell in love with it.
In fact I fell in love with my 50ml bottle so much I eventually finished it, then bought a brand new large bottle.
It’s such an inviting scent, with a dark style from the leather and tobacco, mixed with a citrus vibe from the lemon and bergamot.
Top Notes – Lemon, Bergamot
Middle Notes – Anise, Olive Blossom, Guaiac Wood
Base Notes – Leather, Tonka Bean,
Best season to wear – Autumn/Winter
Scent type – Slightly Warm Spicy/Leather/Citrus
Age Recommendation – 18+
Best Worn – Evening, Date Night, Casual
Armani Mania
Released back in 2002, I got Armani Mania for Christmas around the 2005 year. What a fantastic fragrance this was. I say was, it’s sadly discontinued now, so if you missed out you’ve missed out on a brilliant scent.
Luckily for me, I still have some, around half of a bottle left, and it still smells great.
Armani Mania is a fresh spicy type of scent which has a slightly floral and woody note, and there’s nothing else which I’ve got that smells quite like this.
It’s kind of hard to describe the smell, other than it’s masculine in a musky kind of way, mixed up with fresh and spicy notes.
Top Notes – Tangerine Leaves, Saffron
Middle Notes – Cedar, Vetiver
Base Notes – Amber, Musk
Best season to wear – All rounder
Scent type – Spicy/Woody/Fresh/Floral
Age Recommendation – 21+
Best Worn – Evening, Daytime, Office, Date Night, Casual
Armani Eau De Nuit
An Armani fragrance built for the night, as the name may suggest. Armani Eau De Nuit is a light woody and aromatic fragrance with a slight floral hint to it.
I remember buying this in the airport after trying it, and thought it was a really pleasant scent to wear in the autumn or winter when it’s cold.
There’s pink pepper and cedar which shine through, and has a subtle profile meaning you can smell good without it being overbearing.
Top Notes – Bergamot, Pink pepper
Middle Notes – Nutmeg, Cardamom, Iris, Heliotrope
Base Notes – Cedar, Tonka, Amber
Best season to wear – All Seasons
Scent type – Woody/Aromatic/Floral
Age Recommendation – 25+
Best Worn – Evening, Formal, Casual, Out With The Boys
Emporio Armani He / Lui
A fragrance which has now had 3 releases, this is Emporio Armani He/Lui. An Armani scent that was first released in 1998, I got this one first around 2005, and then once again when it was re-released in 2021. It even got another release in 2024.
I was excited when this came back, as I had ran out of my OG bottle. Next time round I got a large bottle, and it still smells as good as ever.
It’s a modern masculine scent, with an aromatic, fresh spicy style to it. The vetiver, cardamom and white musk shine through in this, and I feel it’s quite a unique fragrance.
Top Notes – Yuzu, Cardamom, Sage
Middle Notes – Nutmeg, Rose, Orris
Base Notes – Vetiver, Sandalwood, Tonka Bean, White Musk
Best season to wear – All Rounder
Scent type – Aromatic, Warm, Slightly Woody
Age Recommendation – 18+
Best Worn – Evening, Casual, Formal
Emporio Armani Remix HE
Last but not least I have to give an honourable mention to Emporio Armani Remix He. I used to love this scent, so much so that I have virtually finished the bottle, which doesn’t happen too often.
It’s warm and floral, but has a bit of musk and light woods to it, with vetiver and liquorice which gives it a dark tone.
And there you have it, the best fragrances from Armani.
It’s not only a top designer fashion brand, Armani, whether it’s from the Giorgio line or Emporio are brilliant fragrances for men that you can buy.
